Well… this months Glam Bag wasn’t much better than last months… It’s not AS bad…. but jeez. They really started out on top those first few months and these last 2 months have been a major let down. It doesn’t help any either that this month’s Birchbox shipment was amaze-balls.
On to the March Glam Bag (did anyone else think it smelled like plastic or something? It seems to be coming from the bag itself, rather than a product in the bag):
As usual, I love the way the Glam Bag ships. The pink bubble mailer gives you a little bit of a lift when you see it and everything comes neatly presented in a cute makeup bag (thankfully, a new makeup bag each month!).
Included in this months bag was:
~ Pur-lisse Pur-Lip Comfort Daily Lip Nourisher is actually really great. It’s a smooth lip balm and applied nicely. The product included is a full size, and has a $16.00 retail, so that was pretty sweet. (however this is also a GWP item at Dermstore if you buy a certain amount of Pur-lisse product… so yeah).
~ A MyGlam Crease Brush and Brush Holder – this had an odd odor too. Not like the one from the bag, but a different one… the brush actually smells like gasoline. I’ll try and wash it, but it’s giving me a headache so if I can’t get the stench to go away I’ll have to throw it out. Which will be a shame, because the brush feels super soft…
~ Keracolor Color Enhancing Leave-In Treatment in Natural for all hair types. You can get 2-4 uses out of the packets provided, and I’m pretty excited for this one. Keracolor is a brand I’ve been dying to try out and I’m always looking for something to make my hair look nicer.
~ A little sachet from the Dermstore which includes a coupon for $25 off a $50 purchase (it says gift card but that term should be used very loosely since you have a minimum amount you need to spend, which in my head makes it a coupon), and sample packets of Murad Eye Lift Protector, and Pur-Lisse Pur-Protect Essential Daily Moisturizer with SPF30.
Overall, I was pretty disappointed, but not as much as I was last month. It wasn’t so much of a fail that I want to cancel (I was happy with the Keracolor and Pur-lisse Lip Nourisher), but they really need to step up their game back to where they started. From what I’ve been reading, most of their fans were expecting this to be more of a cosmetic type of service, and what we’re seeing lately is a lot of skincare.
You can sign up for your own MyGlam bag at myglam.com for $10 a month. The way they initially charge is a bit odd, so make sure you read up on all of the FAQ stuff. These tend to sell out very quickly. Rather than stalking them on Facebook, or waiting for a notification email, I suggest checking the website once a day, that’s how I ended up being able to sign up.
