Ohhh Mattenes… why oh why aren’t you permanent?! MAC Mattene Lipsticks are such a great formula. Creamy, matte, yet glossy and moisturizing. They greet us once again in 10 pigmented and dazzling shades with the Fall 2011 Posh Paradise Collection.
I only picked up two, so far, but I’m hitting the mall tomorrow and planning on getting one or two more. Naked Bliss and Nubile PP are calling to me, as an addict, I can’t ignore.
For now, I give you, Delectable and Legendary Mattene Lipstick.
Delectable (orange-beige) is a muted peachy shade perfect for a neutral or smoky look. This is a shade you can wear a lot more frequently than the vampy Legendary, and can last you through the colder months all the way into spring and summer. If you’re looking to pick up a shade that you can wear quite a bit, this is the one.
Legendary (mid-tone brick red) is a beautiful shade of Merlot. It coated nicely but was not drying. This shade did sink into my lips (as I noticed after several hours as it began to fade out) but it wasn’t so bad that I felt the need to immediately touch up. I smoothed some balm over my lips and it just looked like a nice muted gloss.
How did I decide on these two shades? Delectable is a given. It’s just a “me” shade… but Legendary? Such a vampy shade for me… however… it makes me think of Neil Patrick Harris’ character on the show “How I Met Your Mother” when he goes “LEGEN… wait for it… DARY”. Love that show. Love NPH.
MAC Mattene Lipstick retails for $14.50 and is a limited edition product. As of this blog post Legendary is the only shade that is sold out on maccosmetics.com, but you still may be able to purchase this at your local MAC Counter or store.
